Role Title:   Bid Writer/Fundraiser Volunteer

Location:   Home-based or Virtual (with the option of face-to-face supervision in London)

Responsible to: The Recruitment Project Manager, with guidance from the Senior Leadership Team.

The Role: To secure funding that supports the existing work of Radical Recruit and the development of new services.

Purpose:   To research, design, write and submit detailed applications for capital and revenue funds to support the work of Radical Recruit. This will be a fantastic opportunity for a talented and driven volunteer who is keen to support a small start-up business to grow and flourish. Radical Recruit is seeking an individual who would enjoy the chance to make the case to donors, trusts, and corporate organisations to fund our work.

Our Aim: We employ a values led approach to sourcing talent and represent those who are underrepresented in the labour market; working exclusively with disadvantaged candidates from marginalised communities to support them into work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Researching potential grant funders and identifying other capital and revenue opportunities.
  • Assisting with the writing and editing of high-quality content for funding applications and bid processes.
  • Supporting the Senior Leadership Team to submit bids to deadline ensuring they are of consistent quality and style.
  • Establishing and assisting with the management of a portfolio of funders, including compiling and producing progress reports, with support from the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Assisting with grant administration support for grants received from funders.
  • Building relationships with relevant funders ensuring all donors are canvassed in an appropriate way.
  • Providing the information required to enable the Senior Leadership Team to monitor, evaluate and report as necessary.
  • Where relevant, arrange for prospects and donors to volunteer for Radical Recruit.

What you will need

  • Experience of working or volunteering in a fundraising role ideally within grants or corporate giving.
  • Experience of researching and writing successful proposals to a range of audiences.
  • A strong knowledge of trusts, statutory and lottery fundraising.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with Radical Recruit stakeholders.
  • A passion for improving the lives of people from marginalised communities.
  • Ability to take direction, follow instruction and use own initiative as required.
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by small growing businesses.
  • Regular time to gift.
